We’re excited to announce that Nextpoint has been featured in Inc. Magazine’s list of Best Workplaces 2022. Inc. is a leading resource for business news and insights across North America.
Each year, Inc. calculates engagement and benefits scores for thousands of companies to determine which employers “have cracked the code for excellent company culture.” The data is based on a 37 question employee survey as well as benefits and perks like health insurance and 401(k)s.
Out of thousands of contenders, 475 companies were recognized for their exceptional company culture, and we’re proud to be one of these employers. Since 2001, we’ve strived to foster a culture of innovation and personal growth, in which our employees are excited to share their ideas and have the support and resources to follow through on them.
Work-Life Balance is the Key to Success
We also promote a healthy work-life balance with our employees, which appears to be a key factor in creating a happy workplace, based on Inc.’s findings. Five key benefits separated the companies who made the list from those who didn’t, including unlimited paid time off, paid paternity leave and wellness services. Nextpoint offers all five of the benefits listed and more – our goal is to have employees who thrive both personally and professionally.
“The culture here definitely fosters a good work-life balance, no matter how fast-paced things get,” says Elizabeth Guthrie, Digital Content Creator. “We’re encouraged to take time off and recharge, and we have built-in mental health days that we’re expected to take each quarter. And when I am in the office, there are always opportunities to slow down and relax with my coworkers when we need it, whether it’s a morning yoga class at the studio down the street or regular mid-day breaks on the balcony for some sunshine.”
We also offer a wellness stipend of $100/month to our employees, which was derived from the remote work stipend we began offering at the beginning of the pandemic. At first, it was intended to help our employees obtain any resources they needed to adjust to remote work. Now, as many employees have returned to regularly working in the office, we’ve expanded the stipend to cover general wellness needs, from gym memberships to gas for their commute.
We’re not only committed to our employees, but to serving our community as well. As devoted advocates for due legal process and justice, we donate a portion of our profits every year to the Human Rights Watch organization. We also volunteer with Chicago nonprofits like Share Our Spare, Shoes that Fit, Cobra 31 Foundation, and Lemonade Brigade.
