Nextpoint has a history of corporate social responsibility that has grown and evolved to meet the complexities of today’s business world and the challenges of a global society. We are committed to investing in, and enriching both our industry and our community.
Nextpoint is a proud and contributing member of both the legal and technology/development community. We are involved in many industry events, conferences and leadership organizations as active participants in defining the future of our industry.
The Legal Cloud Computing Association was formed on December 15, 2010 with a goal to promote standards for cloud computing that are responsive to the needs of the legal profession and to enable lawyers to become aware of the benefits of computing technology through the development and distribution of education and informational resources. Nextpoint has been a proud, contributing member of the LCCA since February 2011.
The Sedona Conference exists to allow leading jurists, lawyers, experts, academics and others, at the cutting edge of issues in the area of antitrust law, complex litigation, and intellectual property rights, to come together – in conferences and mini-think tanks (Working Groups) – and engage in true dialogue, not debate, all in an effort to move the law forward in a reasoned and just way.
The Working Group Series is designed to focus the dialogue on forward-looking principles, best practices and guidelines in specific areas of the law that may have a dearth of guidance or are otherwise at a “tipping point.” The goal is that the Working Groups will produce output that is balanced, authoritative, and of immediate benefit to the Bench, Bar and general public.
Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) was created to develop resources and best practices for e-discovery consumers and providers. Nextpoint is a contributing member to the Evergreen and XML working groups in EDRM.
Through the group’s creation of the EDRM model, which outlines the key processes and steps involved with e-discovery, to its development of an XML standard so that e-discovery products can interoperate, EDRM has helped e-discovery consumers and providers reduce the cost, time and manual work associated with e-discovery.
The Open Source Technology Community/Movement is a broad-reaching movement comprised both officially and unofficially of individuals who feel that software should be produced altruistically. Open source software is made available to anybody to use, or to modify as its source code is made available. The freedom of the software is subject only to the stipulation that the user of the software makes any enhancements or changes as freely available to the public. Open source software promotes learning and understanding through the dissemination of understanding.
Corporate Social Responsibility
We are devoted advocates for due legal process, and justice for all people throughout the world. Since its inception, Nextpoint has been a contributor and benefactor to the Human Rights Watch organization, as we feel aligned with their vigilant protection of human rights and justice worldwide.
Human Rights Watch is one of the world’s leading independent organizations dedicated to defending and protecting human rights. By focusing international attention where human rights are violated, HRW gives voice to the oppressed and hold oppressors accountable for their crimes. Their rigorous, objective investigations and strategic, targeted advocacy build intense pressure for action and raise the cost of human rights abuse. For 30 years, Human Rights Watch has worked tenaciously to lay the legal and moral groundwork for deep-rooted change and has fought to bring greater justice and security to people around the world. HRW enlists the public and the international community to support the cause of human rights for all. Nextpoint is committed to donating two percent of our profits from hosting revenue to HRW.
